development of a selected organisation’s marketing plans
For M2, learners should identify and explain the limitations of the marketing
research methods used in the selected organisation investigated. The
organisation I will be using is Villiers High School.
Villiers High School collects primary research in order to gather more
information about their students and their subjects. Villiers High School
conducts their questionnaires every year as several new students/teachers
arrive at the school, they collect internal and external secondary information in
order to save time and also learn about other schools in the area. Villiers also
collects quantitative data in order to save time when illustrating these results;
they also use it to understand the quality of their lessons by having students
rating them. Quantitative data is also used when looking at the sales figures,
for e.g. revenue generated from canteen or clothing department. Qualitative
questionnaires would be used to understand how they could improve their
school.
A Marketing Plan is a business document that describe the current market
position of a business and the purpose of it is to show what steps or actions
will be taken in order to achieve their goals. For e.g. Villiers aim may be to
increase their Ofsted rating to ‘Outstanding’, however this only possible by
improving the service provided, therefore methods such in order to improve
these services would be listed in a marketing plan.
Market research is vital for Villiers High School, however it is a tough/time
consuming process and also very limited. All market research conducted by
businesses may be incorrect or misleading, therefore they need to ensure their
marketing plan is accurate and has a very small chance of failing. The following
bold titles are limitations of market research that are used to contribute to the
development of Villiers High School Marketing Plans.

they must find ways of collecting data as well as staying under budget.
Collecting data can cost a lot of money therefore they must find efficient
