P1: explain the importance of providing excellent customer service
in travel and tourism organisations
First Impressions
It takes a person roughly 6 seconds to form a first impression about someone
or a company. A first impression is when you meet someone for the first time
or visit somewhere for the first time you will automatically create a mental
image of that person or place. This can be a negative or positive first
impression depending on your experience with the person or company.
The first impression that I had got from the Murat Apart was basic. The hotel
seemed to be in a quiet area of Icmeler, Turkey. The hotel was very clean and
the staffs were very friendly and very helpful with taking our suitcases to our
hotel room. The following morning they were still very polite, asking how we
slept and if anything else was needed to make our stay there more ‘perfect’.
The first impression that I had from the Faber Apart Hotel was impressive.
There was a large hotel which had many floors and hotel rooms – this gave

company has been advertised. It can also be due to what you have been told
by other people (word of mouth) and how the logos have been presented.
The company image for the Murat Apart Hotel was basic. The logo for the
hotel was simple and standard as most of the hotels logos in Turkey were
similar. However, friends of mine had been saying about how good the hotel
was so that rose what I had first thought about the hotel.
The company image for the Faber Apart Hotel was high. We had previously
visited the Faber Apart Hotel to see friends but never stayed there previous.
Because of how good it was when we went there I saw the company as being
highly rated before one year we stayed at the hotel.
Speed and Accuracy of Service
The bigger the company the more important it is for the company to have a
very quick and accurate service to their customer’s guests. For example,
