,CAHMS: Disorders
• Somatisation disorder
• Multiple physical symptoms presents for >2 years
• Patient refuses to accept reassurance or negative test results
• Hypochondriac disorder
• Patient believes they have a serious disease e.g. cancer
• Patient refuses to accept reassurance or negative test results
• Conversion disorder
• Usually involves loss of motor or sensory function
• Due to underlying unconscious psychological emotional conflict
• Factitious disorder / Munchausen’s syndrome
• Intentional production of physical or psychological symptoms
• Malingering
• Fraudulent or exaggerated symptoms with the intention of financial or other gain
, CAHMS: Conduct Disorder
• Persistent pattern of severe defiant conduct lasting at least 6 mont
• Either a range of moderate antisocial behaviours or one extreme
antisocial behaviour:
• Stealing
• Bullying
• Truancy
• Unusually frequent and severe temper tantrums
• Cruelty towards animals
• Destruction of property / arson
• 50% develop antisocial personality disorder
