• Normally found at the ampulla of the fallopian tube
• Risk factors
• Damage to fallopian tubes e.g. PID or surgery
• Previous ectopic
• Endometriosis
• Copper IUD
• Progesterone only pill
• IVF
, Ectopic Pregnancy: Symptoms
• 6-8 week history of amenorrhea
• Lower abdominal pain
• Constant and unilateral
• Usually the first symptom due to tubal spasm
• Vaginal bleeding
• Shoulder tip pain or pain on defecation / urination
• Due to peritoneal bleeding
• Dizziness and syncope
