Disengagement theory suggests that people will subconsciously withdraw from society. In
relation to nature this shows that people don't have a choice about whether or not that they
withdraw from society

Disengagement theory also suggests that people will consciously theory withdraw from
society as they do not want as many people to be as upset when they die.
