Method
Stage 1 – Preparation of Ethyl Ethanoate
1. Pour some of the anti-bumping granules into the pear-shaped flask.
2. In the fume cupboard add in 10cm3 of ethanoic acid, 15cm3 of ethanol and 15
drops of sulfuric acid into the pear-shaped flask.
3. Then place the flask into the heating mantle and set up a reflux set up including
it, using the retort stand, clamps, bosses, and condenser
4. Connect the bottom tube of the condenser with the tap and and place the top
tube in the sink.
