There are lots of random reactions in AQA A level chemistry that appear throughout the course, which could come up in your exams. Whilst it's not essential to have all of these equations memorised, being familiar with these equations will surely have a great impact on your performance, allowing you to answer certain questions spontaneously and spend less time figuring things out. At the very least, its important that you can derive these equations yourselves from just the reactants, as exam questions will often ask you to complete the equation with limited information. I had committed all of these equations to memory during my revision, which I found to be hugely beneficial and a major factor contributing towards my A* in A level chemistry.
