, Indian Ink
❖ A black pigment used in drawing or lettering. It was actually invented in China
early as the 3rd millennium BCE, but the name Indian ink or India ink was coin
by the British during later trade with India.


❖ The play's title refers to Shringara, the rasa of erotic love, which is associated
with an inky blue-black colour and the god Krishna, who is always painted with
dusky blue skin.
