D1 – Evaluate the effectiveness of the use of techniques in marketing products in one organisation.
In this task, I will be comparing the marketing techniques used in marketing products. The two
organizations that I have chosen are Apple and NHS. I will also be evaluating the effectiveness of the
use of techniques in marketing products in one of the organisations which will be Apple.
There are four main marketing strategiesthat businesses must undergo. The four strategies are:
Growth strategies
Survival strategies
Relationship strategies
Transactional strategies
Growth Strategies:
Growth Strategies are strategies aimed at winning a large market share, even at the expense of
short-term earnings. Growth strategies can also maximum the businesses sales on a daily basis. It
also allows you to make your business healthier and to be able to gain more profits because your
market share is increasing while the business is growing.
NHS aim to grow because sometimes the NHS can’t provide for things that patients need so they
want to expand to be able to give the best service possible. Although it is a free service, they still
provide some people with the best service so that patients are happy and the staff are satisfied that
they have done the best for the patients and treated them well and given them the medication that
they were required to have. NHS are trying to invest more money into finding more medicine to help
those who cannot get anything from the medicine that they are given because it’s not the correct
one. They are also trying to make sure that patients get the best from the NHS and that they actually
benefit from their services and the products that they are provided with to help them get better.

product and Apple are guaranteed sales on their brand new products because it’s a must have
product because it is so popular and they have taken over the mobile phone industry. Apple release
New Products for New Customers which also links up with Product development as their iPhones
have the same software but they change the colours, size or even add extra features to attract more
customers to buy the new product. Apple started with iPods which was just for those who enjoyed
listening to music and to help them stop thinking about the long journey home from work, school or
wherever they were coming from.
First, the iPod was just an object that contains music and all you could do with it was store
thousands of songs, hundreds of CD's which could be converted into mp3 files. It was also to help
the public bring their favourite music with them everywhere they went. The iPod started off small
