Method: (Cheerios)
1. I inserted a small amount of cheerios into separate mortars and crush them into a
liquid solution using distilled water.
2. I then filtered the cheerios liquid away from the excess food using a filter and poured
this into a test tube.
3. After this I used a pipette to take a small amount of the cheerios liquid from the test
tube and put a small amount into 6 different test tubes creating a 1:1 ratio amount
with each macronutrient. (Iodine, Biuret, Ethanol, Benedicts x2 and DCPIP)
4. Lastly I put the test tube with both mixes into a water bath to help quicken the
reaction while I waited for them to change colour.
5. I wrote down all the results on a table.

Method: (Potato)
1. I inserted a small amount of potatoes into separate mortars and crush them into a
liquid solution using distilled water.

this into 5 different test tubes for each macronutrient.
3. After this I used a pipette to take a small amount of the potato liquid from the test
tube and put a small amount into 6 different test tubes creating a 1:1 ratio amount
with each macronutrient. (Iodine, Biuret, Ethanol, Benedicts x2 and DCPIP)
4. Lastly I put the test tube with both mixes into a water bath to help quicken the
reaction while I waited for them to change colour.
