Introduction
In this lecture, I am going to represent my research about different computer
programs to give a basic information about them.
1. Explain how computational thinking skills are applied in finding
solutions that can interpreted into software applications.
Computational thinking:
Computational thinking is a process that allow us to solve challenging
problems and demonstrate it and the solutions in a way that computers can
understand and perform, computational thinking is composed by four
elements: decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithm in
order to work correctly.
• Decomposition: Breaking down a complicated problem into smaller part
that are clearer and manageable in order to solve easier.
• Pattern recognition: pattern recognition is looking for similar details in the
problem that is comparable to another problem in order to fix the problem
faster.
• Abstraction: abstraction is removing and ignoring the details we don’t need
to focus on the main problem.
• Algorithms: finding a solution or rules step by step to solve a problem in a
way that a computer can execute that process.
, Computational thinking in software applications
Software applications are programs created for a specific task usually to be
used by end-user that we use in daily life like completing tasks and performing
it on computers, sending emails, designing and so much more, some popular
application software is Microsoft and google chrome.
We can make or update the applications in a way that meets the client’s needs
and expectations by using the method of computational thinking, we can go
through the four steps of it to make a software usable and useful.
By Decompositioning well break down a difficult problem into little problems
so we can tackle them faster and easily, we can use pattern recognitions to
create solutions for applications by finding the similar problems therefore you
can link the solutions so creating an application that is able to spot this can be
practical.
Abstraction can be used in filtering, ignoring useless information, and sliding
into the main problem to avoid wasting time and making more workload, it can
help you to be more focused.
At the end, Algorithm can help us to create and apply solutions by step-by-step
patterns its useful because it can track the problems instead of confusing the
person who solves the problems.
By going through these four steps a software application will have a decent
quality.
2. Explain how principles of computer programming are applied in
different languages to produce software applications.
Principal of computer programming
There are two types of principals in computer programming: High-level and
low-level programming languages, these two have noticeable differences.
High-level language is a friendly-use program language that enables the user to
code easily for they are close to human language so it’s easier to read and
write the codes than to machine language, like python, java and C++.
