AQA A Level History (7042)
Unit 2S The Making of Modern Britain, 1951-2007
Personal Learning Checklist

Guidance
A Personal Learning Checklist (PLC) is a really useful resource, not only so that you
have a list of everything that you need to revise, but also to help track how often
you have revised a particular topic and to evaluate where your knowledge strengths
and weaknesses are. You could use the 5 columns next to the topics to simply tick
and/or date when you revise a topic. A better way to revise, so that you know you
are focusing on your weaker areas rather than just the topics you enjoy, is to RAG
rate your knowledge. For example, you might date the first column of Section 1 and
then highlight the box next to each topic according to how confident you feel about
your knowledge of that topic: green for topics you feel you know well, amber for
topics you have some knowledge of but also know there are gaps that need filling,
and red for topics you don’t feel comfortable with at all. Then start revising with the
red topics, ticking them off as you complete them in a revision session. Next time
you revise that section, repeat the process to see how the colours have changed
and identify your progress.
