On completion of this unit I should:
I. Know the role of marketing in organisation
II. Be able to use marketing research and marketing planning
III. Understand how and why customer groups are marketed
IV. Be able to develop a coherent marketing mix
Task 3:
1. Chose a local cinema I know of to base the assignment on.
2. Write a REPORT that covers the Assessment Criteria for P3. The report must have
Terms of Reference, Findings, Conclusion and Recommendations.
3. In my Findings write a brief paragraph on the cinema you have chosen.
4. Explain briefly what marketing research is and how it can help the cinema make
marketing plans.
5. Include a description of the different types of internal/external primary research used
6. Include a description of the different types of internal/external secondary research
used
7. Include a description of how market research can be used to reduce risk in decision
making and to measure progress over time.
8. Include a description of qualitative and quantitative data
9. Explain what Marketing Planning is concerned with, and what the process involves.

In this report I have been asked to describe how VUE cinema in Romford uses marketing
research to contribute to the development of its marketing plans. Also I will talk about
different types of internal/external primary and secondary research used. How quantitative
and qualitative data may contribute to marketing research, what is PESTLE Audit and SWOT
Analysis is. In conclusion I will explain how Marketing research can help the cinema to make
marketing plans to help the business move forward.
I will use the Internet, Moodle and my Business Textbook to collect information for the
report.
