Strategic Planing
Strategic planning – is an organisational management activity that is used to set priorities, focus
energy and resources, strengthen operations, ensure that employees and other stakeholders are
working toward common goals, establish agreement around intended outcomes/results, and assess
and adjust the organisation's direction in response to a changing environment.

The strategic planning process is very important in any business, and this process and the
organisational structure play an important role in helping a business to achieve its objectives. The
new entrepreneurs need to understand how businesses organise their strategic planning and how this,
along with the organisation structure selected by the organisation, help them to achieve their aims
and objectives.

SMART Objectives
Business Objectives state what the business wishes to achieve. They are the key to moving from
your present state to the future one. Objectives should be:

Specific – a clear and easy to understand.
Measurable – should be able to be quantified.
Achievable – should be possible to be attained.
Realistic – not 'pie in the sky'.
Time bound – associated with a specific time period.
