A contract of employment is a contract that is prepared for the employer
and employee. This is an agreement between the employer and
employee when an employee is accepted for the job and starts work.
Having a contract of employment is needed in the workplace so the
employee understands the terms and conditions that are provided by the
employer before starting work.
The benefits of a contact of employment
Employees know what is expected of them from the business and
performs their duties well
Businesses can get the best employees
It gives more control of the way an employee works
It helps meet businesses standards
Protects confidential information of a business such as when an
employee learns about trade secrets
Asda offers different contract of employments for example, full-time and
part-time contracts, fixed-term contracts however they do not offer zero
hour contracts.
Contractual entitlement
A contractual entitlement is outlined within the contract of employment so
that an employer and employee know what is expected of each one.
