The consequences on society of an increase in online business
The first consequences of online businesses on society is that the online
businesses have started warping peoples sense of reality because the Internet
has become very popular in our generation and has started providing great
services such as connecting people from all over the world, but this great service
comes with consequences like people now a days don’t bother meeting up with
their friend no more because they could just connect to their friend on the
internet which slow starts to turn them lazy. Another reason why people have
started warping their sense of reality is people because of online businesses such
as Facebook, twitter, Instagram, etc. which is where all communication takes
place and also it helps people gain more friends but in actual fact the fiends your
gaining in real life you would not have time to go out with them or spend time
with them. Due to these reasons, countless of friends are now decreasing in the
real life of people as they are not able to develop and maintain relationship.
The second consequences of online businesses on society is that it has started to
spoil the beauty of shopping because the number of peoples running around in
the shopping malls with their shopping trolleys has started to decrease all thanks
to the online businesses. Online businesses such as Amazon.com, eBay and
gumtree has started to eliminate the need for people to experience the beauty of
shopping. These days instead of going to the shop to purchase most of the
things such as food, makeup, trainers, technology, etc. it can be easily done over
the Internet which is making our generation very lazy because people will rather
order online knowing that they don’t have to drive or walk and plus people will all
ways prefer the easy option.
The third consequences of online businesses on society is that it has decreased
productivity because even though social media websites helps with finding
customers and as well as communicating with customers it can prove to be a
great distraction to employees who may show more interest in what their friends
are posting on their social media page rather than in their work tasks. Websites
such as Wired.com has posted two studies which demonstrated damage to
productivity caused by social networking: Nucleus Research reported that
Facebook shaves 1.5% off office productivity while Morse claimed that British
companies lost 2.2 billion a year to the social phenomenon.
The fourth consequences of online businesses on society is that it people Loss of
the human touch because of people become too addictive to this such as online
games which is powered by online businesses. When people become addicted
they tend to replace what they do on day to day bases with online activities and
start to forget the real people in their surroundings who are in need of their
attention or have socialisation needs the reason why people become addicted is
because Social networking gives more importance to virtual friends than real
ones.
The fifth consequences of online businesses on society is that it people ignore
their family because people too hooked start to replace their family and with
online games for example, a couple in Korea forgot to feed their real who died of
hunger because they were too busy with their virtual baby. Now a days because
the internet full of addictive things people can easily become targeted and then
influenced by the hidden hand of the internet into its lair.
