In this assignment, I will be explaining the legal and ethical issues in relation to
the use of business information. Then I will explain the operational issues in
relation to the use of the business information. In last I be analysing the legal,
ethical and operational issues in relation to the use of business information. The
business I be talking about is Rokeby school.
Rokeby School is a community secondary school for boys, located in the
Canning Town area of the London Borough of Newham, England. Rokeby
School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmers of study for pupils. The
school also specializes in Mathematics, Computing and Languages.

Legal issues mean something right or wrong. for example if you own a company
you need to look at ``the legal issues like people posing a bad image of your
company when there is nothing wrong could be a bad legal issue.

Data protection Act:
The Data Protection Act controls how an organisation, business or the
government should you’re your personal information. It also handle personal
information about individuals, you have a number of legal requirements to
protect that information under the Data Protection Act 1998. Rokeby School uses
the Data Protection Act to keep your personal information safe from other
students, their guardians and other people. Students have to sign their
agreements of the Data Protection Act slip, then the school cannot give any
student personal information to anyone unless it is needed for a legal purpose.
The information includes both electronic files (online) and paper files. Rokeby
School holds and process information about their staff, students and other data
subjects for academic, administrative and commercial purposes. Rokeby is not
obliged to pass on any information to anyone, if they do so that will be breaking
the law. Therefore, they have a keep everybody’s information/details save with
fairness and lawfully. Rokeby is successful in following this ‘Data protection Act’
keeping the electronic documents safe by using password protection, and by
keeping Paper files in a key and lock cabinet. However, information can be
access on a ‘need to know base’. For example, for some reason if police want to
see information about the student or a staff, the school can hand over the details
to police.
Freedom of Information Act 2000:
The freedom of information act was put in place to provide individuals or
organisations with the right to request information held by a public authority.
This means that the public authority must tell students whether Rokeby School
holds the information or not. Rokeby School must provide information to student
