NR714 Weekly Reflections
Week 1 (Please change the highlighted sentences)
Week one objectives were not easily achievable and a lot of research was conducted to

achieve the objectives. For example, analyzing the two qualitative investigations was time

demanding and a lot of efforts were put into place. I have realized that I am capable of carrying

out wide reading and researching. My ability to read and research has been improved from

achieving the weekly objectives. The use of practical research has given me the exposure to real-

life analysis, which will improve my effectiveness as a scholar.

Week 2
Following the week's activities, I advanced my ability to appraise quantitative studies. The main

guideline that fostered the attainment of the weekly objectives was the knowledge of what to

search and to understand the reliable databases to get the sources. In addition, understanding the

most relevant search keywords was primary in the completion of this discussion. In future, this

skill will come in handy when conducting projects whose findings could influence healthcare

practice.

Week 3
One of the specific examples in which I have achieved my weekly objectives is through appraisal
of study abstracts. I have improved my ability to read and conduct the assessment of many
summaries. Besides, I have strengthened my skills of collecting information by searching reliable
databases by using relevant keywords. Hence, this has significantly changed the way I not only
gather secondary data but also carry out a critical analysis of systematic reviews. I believe that
this skill will improve my effectiveness as a healthcare practitioner in the current workplace.
Hence, the weekly learning content will help me utilize the available evidence to make critical
decision-making on treatment and support my long-term goal of enhancing patient care
outcomes.
Week 4
In week 4, I have gained crucial insights pertaining to research and data analysis. For instance, in
the determination of the sample size, it requires specific considerations such as the effect size,
population homogeneity, and the expected rate of response among others. The week's learning
imparts knowledge on how to apply the various tests based on the normality of the data available
