Issues and Impacts:
Science is progressing fast in our century and you will often observe
that this new science has an impact on you or the nature. This impact
may be environmental, economic, social, political or ethical.
Environmental Impacts
Environmental impacts can be categorised in:
Global Impact:
Wind turbines will use the power of wind to create electricity which will
have a positive impact. It could reduce the emission of CO2 therefore
reduce global warming and protect habitats globally.
Local Impact:
If the forest next to your house is cut in order to use the wood, the local
environment will take a negative Impact. The number of natural
habitats will be lowered, the ground will become more dry and
deforestation percentage will grow.

Economic impacts:
A number of scientific discoveries have an economic impact. For
example:
Bumping the trash in the lake pollutes the water and reduces
biodiversity.
Many diseases are spread in polluted water.
Cleaning the lake costs a lot of money and as biodiversity Is reduced
there will be less fish that can be extracted from the lake for food. But
cleaning the lake has a positive environmental impact, which in turn
