Heat exhaustion, Heat stroke and Heat cramps.

Heat Exhaustion- high temperatures and high humidity level, perspiration not effective at cooling
body. Symptoms- profuse sweating, dizziness, nausea, muscle
weakness, fatigue, skin flushing
Heat Cramps- caused by low sodium levels from exercising for long
periods in high temperature. Symptoms- painful contractions of skeletal
muscle
Heatstroke- body's internal temperature reaches 104 degrees. cooling
capacity or sweating stops. Symptoms- hot/ dry skin, fainting, confusion,
poor coordination, seizures




Heat exhaustion (caused by ineffective cooling through sweating - Symptoms include
profuse sweating, dizziness, nausea/vomiting, muscle weakness, fatigue and skin
flushing)

Heat cramps (caused by a lack of sodium, symptoms include pain caused by
contractions of the skeletal muscle)


Heatstroke (occurs when the body’s internal temperature reaches 104 degrees as the
body’s cooling capacity fails and sweating stops. Symptoms include hot, dry skin,
fainting, confusion, poor coordination and seizures)
