● Allows for focus/detailed results

● May not be valid if doesn’t consider the whole
person or ignores other factors/explanations

Holistic ● Considers more than one explanation or measures
more than one variable/factor
● Harder to be focussed/ accurate
● Less detail
● Less scientific
