Asda makes sure that their entire recruitment process is carried out thoroughly to make sure
that they get the best candidates for the role. This means Asda will go into detail when checking
job analysis, job description, person specification, advertisement, and the application form. An
effective method of using these recruitment processes will create a capable, knowledgeable,
motivated, happy, hardworking workforce. These benefits also slingshot the company into an
even more successful direction as productivity, revenue, profit will improve as well as the market
share will increase and investors will be pleased with the results. Therefore the successful
use of the recruitment processes contributes to Asda’s success.

The ways the recruitment processes lead to success are:

One vital way recruitment processes lead to success is that the applicant will be able to work
the job effectively and with a clear vision of their purpose and role. An advantage of this is the
recruited staff will be able to work their job effectively without the constant monitoring by a
manager of another staff member. This overall improves the productivity of the workforce as
another staff is not occupied by newly acquired staff and they can continue with their regular
work. This is due to a thorough job analysis that resulted in a detailed job advertisement, job
description, and person specification. This indicates if the candidate is capable of performing the
task without assistance. Another benefit of using the recruitment processes is that the candidate
is more likely to enjoy the job they do and therefore are much less likely to leave. This will
save Asda money advertising and recruiting more members of staff as the staff turnover will
decrease and this is strongly positive. The money saved from decreasing staff turnover could be
used in other areas of the business such as improved wages and supply the capital to expand
warehouses and stores. The newly acquired employee will need to be very clear on what their
role is to save the company alot of time and money as the wage Asda will be spying will provide
an increased level of productivity. Effective staff integration is the result of good recruiting and
selection, which implies new workers will rapidly integrate into the company's culture.

Having an extremely reputable and high standard of customer service will put Asda in a
fantastic position as the general public will have a good brand image of them and will want to
shop and work for them. Furthermore, if customer service is above average then customers will
want to continue shopping at Asda and new customers will also be attracted. Having superior
customer service will also provide the advantage over other companies that they rival with such
as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Lidl. An improvement in customer service will also generate
repeating business with customers and suppliers. This is because the customer or supplier will
want to shop or provide a company that respects them and having good customer service
reflects this. However, on the other hand, one negative of having poor customer service is that
Asda will likely lose many loyal customers to rivals as the customers will feel as they no longer
matter to Asda and they will feel they are not respected. Another problem which adds to this is a
poor customer service will also cause staff turnover to increase exponentially as the staff will
also feel disrespected and will no longer be happy working for them. Furthermore, normally the
best employees will be those who respect strong customer service. So if the customer service is
