Physical resources:
Buildings and facilities The hotel must have premises for the hotel to run. The
Midland Hotel will need to make sure that they have a
large area for the building of the hotel and the will also
need to make sure that they have enough rooms within the
hotel for their guests. The building is important for the
business because it is the face of the hotel and without it
the hotel would not exist. If the hotels building look good
and presentable then customers are more likely to come
back or want people to visit the hotel. The hotel will need
to have a car park so the staff and the guests at the hotel
will be able to park their cars near the hotel. The external
facilities would be the cameras around the hotel to ensure
that all parts of the building from the outside are being
recorded for safety and security issues. Another external
facility would be the lights that are outside the building
the lights would be used in the car park so at night the
guests are able to see where they are parking and also
another reason for why lights would be needed is because
if there are cameras and there are no lights then nothing
would be visible when recording so therefore lights would
be needed. The different facilities within the hotel are
the bar where the guest can have drinks and this is an
internal facility within the hotel. The hotel would have
public toilets which would be on the ground floor of the
hotel and this would include toilets for both female and
males. These toilets would be accessed by anyone that
comes to the hotel and the hotel must have public toilets
in order to make sure that the guests that come to the
Midland Hotel have the basic facilities that they would
generally need. The hotel will have rooms where the guest
that come to check in into the Midland Hotel will be able
to stay and the rooms will be needed for different reasons
too. For example a room will be needed for the spa that
Midland Hotel has and the spa allows their guests to go
and pamper themselves and relax. Rooms will also be
needed for the eating areas within the hotel and this will
allow the guests of the hotel to sit and eat. Rooms will be
needed for the actual hotel rooms where the guests will be

able to sleep and relax during their stay. The hotel rooms
for their guests include beds, a bathroom with a toilet and
a shower, a television and kettle. The room will also have a
small bin and outside the hotel there will be a bigger bin
which all waste from the smaller bins are emptied into.
There are other facilities in the hotel where there are
function rooms for special occasions and a restaurant area
where the guests of the hotel can eat their breakfast and
dinner. There is also a kitchen where the food is cooked
and the kitchen has various facilities such as ovens, sinks
and other kitchen equipment. The purpose of the hotel
building and the facilities that they have is to please the
customers and meet their needs so that they have a good
stay and want to come back again. The facilities that the
Midland Hotel will have in a standard room for a guest to
stay in will include en-suite facilities including bath and
shower and free internet access. The room will also include
trouser press or ironing facilities, tea and coffee making
facilities, hairdryer, remote control TV, direct dial
telephone and a room service menu. In superior rooms at
the Midland Hotel will include more spacious rooms,
complimentary mineral water, lots of lovely toiletries and
thick, fluffy bathrobes and face cloths. The suites at the
Midland Hotel include a complimentary newspaper of your
choice. Thick, fluffy bathrobes and face cloths, lots of
lovely toiletries, overlooking the bustling city centre and
