Marketing aims and objectives:
Aim – To increase the brand awareness of Team Ocuppola
Objectives:
To create a recognisable brand image for Team ocuppola within the 12 months that the marketing
campaign will run for. This can be measured by conducting market research to find out how much of
the target market recognise Team Ocuppola and its brand image. The amount of people who
recognise the brand should be over 70%, and at least 100 people of the target market should be
surveyed. To ensure this objective is reached, the marketing campaign will have to have a strong
brand image, that people can recognise straight away. This can be done by creating a logo that is eye
catching and distinct from others and ensuring many people see it. This is important to increase
brand awareness and make sure people recognise the brand.
To achieve a combined total following of 100,000 people within 9 months of the campaign being
launched on all social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. This equals about
33,000 followers on each platform. This is important to build the social following of team ocuppola,
which will increase their overall popularity and viewership. This can easily be measured by tracking
the social media success, it will be clear which platforms are achieving the most success in terms of
following, and which are contributing most towards the 100,000 people objective. This objective can
be achieved by offering social media giveaways on various platforms. Such as giving away a gaming
console, where to enter you should follow and share the Team Ocuppola social media pages. Not
only will this increase brand awareness, but it will also attract people from the target market, as
people are likely to share to their friends and family who have an active interest in esports. This
objective is realistic because Team Ocuppola are “beginning to build a social media following”, so are
starting from scratch, without an already established following.
To launch a hoodie range, which features the team’s logo and brand image. And to achieve 2000
units of sales within 5 months of launch. This is important to create another revenue stream, which
will help recoup the costs of promotional activities. This will also mean people will wear the hoodie
in public. This will act as free marketing, because if the hoodie is designed well, people may notice it,
and this will increase brand recognition. However, this depends on how flashy and well designed the
hoodie is, and this may in turn impact the number of sales, as people may not purchase if the design
it to flashy and “in your face”. Therefore, the correct balance must be found. Fnatics hoodie range is
bright orange and features their logo on the front. This design was successful, because Fnatic have
sold out of their hoodies. So, this design should be used as a benchmark and inspiration when
producing a hoodie range.
To gain an audience of 100,000 subscribers through the streaming platform Twitch, within 10
months of the marketing campaign being launched. This is important to ensure that Team Ocuppola
gain a good online viewership and online recognition. This will allow income to be gained, through
subscriptions and will also spread awareness of the team and build the brand, through people
viewing. This can easily be monitored and measured by looking at statistics provided by the
streaming platforms, to the streamers. This can be done by streaming the gameplay of gamers in the
team live, either when they are practising or playing professionally. It’s important to gain an
audience, because this will eventually lead to sponsorships and brand deals, which will increase
revenues. This is needed to recoup the cost of promotional activities. This objective is realistic
