Unit 8 – Assignment LA.1
Musculoskeletal System

First submission work

Introduction
In this assignment I will be describing the musculoskeletal system's functional role in the human
body and explaining the effects of joint and muscle disorders and any potential treatments finally I
will be analysing how musculoskeletal diseases might impact the way muscles cause joint
movement and the function of the said treatments

the functional role of the musculoskeletal system in
the human body
The musculoskeletal system is very important as it has a number of responsibilities which include
protecting your internal organs and your skull protects the brain. Your backbone, and spinal
column, protects the spinal cord, which acts as a communication channel between the brain and
the body. pelvis helps in protecting the bladder, a section of the intestines, and in women,
reproductive organs, while the ribs create a cage that protects the heart and lungs. providing
mechanical support means it allows your body to move because while the central nervous system
sends signals to notify your body that it should be moving the skeletal muscles contract when they
get these messages. This is what makes the bones start moving. Bones store minerals (calcium
and phosphorus) that can be released into our bloodstreams without these body functions such as
supporting cell signalling, muscular contraction and bone regeneration would not be possible. in
extremely short words the skeletal system provides the body with support, movement, protection
acts as storage and helps with blood cell production
now lets talk abput the body's skeleton tha bisc structure is that it basically contains two main parts
wich include the skull, spinal column, rib cage, and sternum all together make up whats labelled as
axial skeleton this forms the central framework for your body It also guards important organs and
maintains your body's structural integrity it allows for minimal movement in most joints while still
being flexible. second part contains the limbs (arms and legs) your shoulder blades and clavicle
and pelvic girdle make up the appendicular skeleton. It responsible for making moving easier.
