Struggling to get the diagnostic criteria, types and definitions straight before your exam? This workbook breaks down exactly what you need to know for diagnosis so you can walk into the exam feeling confident. What's included (59 pages): 5 colour-coded disorder sections, one for each clinical psychology topic: ● Schizophrenia – dark red ● Mood Affective Disorder – blue and grey ● Anxiety and Fear-Related Disorders – yellow and orange ● Impulse Control Disorder – purple and black ● Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder – green and brown Each section includes: ● Definition and ICD-11 diagnostic criteria pages, which cover what each disorder is, duration requirements, symptom categories, and types/sub-categories (e.g. types of delusions, types of obsessions and compulsions). ● Application questions with exam-style scenarios requiring you to apply your knowledge of diagnostic criteria to answer. ● A quick-fire quiz with 7 questions per disorder, testing definitions, durations, key terms or measures. ● Blank worksheets for you to write out the criteria from memory, then check back, active recall is proven to boost retention more than re-reading. ● Memory tips and mnemonics throughout the workbook, including summaries and mnemonics to help you remember diagnostic criteria and exam tips. ● A full answer key with model answers for scenarios and quizzes, plus AO2 exam technique notes. What this workbook covers: ● This workbook only covers the diagnostic criteria sub-topic (section x.x.1 in the 9990 specification): what each disorder is, ICD-11 criteria, types, symptoms and duration rules. Explanations and treatments are intentionally NOT INCLUDED, so you can focus on familiarising yourself with the criteria and master it without being overwhelmed. This workbook is made by a university psychology student and former A* A-Level student. Using my own experience with this subject and examinations, it was originally created for my own revision and is now shared from one student to others. All information follows the CIE 9990 syllabus and specification and should be used alongside class notes, not by itself. PDF – 1 file with 59 pages Size: A4 (ready to print) Colour-coded: works in full colour or black and white Digital use: annotate on GoodNotes, Notability or any PDF app Who this is for: ● Students taking CIE 9990 A-Level Psychology ● Anyone studying Specialist Option 1 Clinical Psychology ● Anyone who learns better with visual structure and colour coding ● Students who want active revision practice, not just passive notes Need extra help remembering diagnostic criteria and definitions for each clinical topic? , INTRODUCTION How to Use This Pack Page 2

A note on this workbook

This workbook only covers:
• What the disorder is (definition)
• How long symptoms must occur for to meet diagnosis
• The named types / sub-categories specified in the syllabus
• The symptoms attached to each diagnosis

Explanations and treatments are separate sub-topics and are intentionally not
included here, so you can focus purely on mastering diagnostic criteria first.
Explanations and treatments are a separate workbook.
A note on ICD-11

Diagnostic:
CIE 9990 specifies that, for assessment purposes, the terms used are those of
the ICD-11 (International Classification of Diseases, 11th revision), while
accepting alternative terminology (e.g. DSM-5) if used appropriately. This pack
uses ICD-11 terminology and structure throughout, matching what you'll see in
your exam.

I recommend using the blank ICD worksheet pages (pg 8) after your familiar with definitions or
read definition pages, Writing criteria out from memory and then checking against the definition
pages - this is more effective then re-reading or checking it allows memory to be strengthened.
