Edexcel A-level psychology content checklist from an A* student
This document contains a link which will allow you to create your own copy of the google sheet I made to act as a checklist for Edexcel A-level psychology. It has a separate sheet for each paper, and I made it directly from the specification, meaning there is a row for every single spec point. I have left gaps/space for you to fill in your contemporary study, key question , practical investigation and chosen disorder for the clinical psychology topic, as these differ between schools. For each point, there are currently tick boxes to say whether you've learnt the topic in class, made flashcards, reviewed the flashcards, made an essay plan and written an essay. There is also a drop down menu to rate your understanding of the topic. Once you make your own copy though, you can change the columns if you would like. I found having a checklist a really helpful technique which helped me get an A* in the 2026 exams as it allows you to ensure you've reviewed every possible thing which can come up, and visually see which topics you need to target your revision towards. By sharing this I hope I can save you the time and effort from creating your own! PLEASE NOTE: I did criminological psychology as my option topic for paper 2 so this list includes the criminological topic - if you did child or health psychology, you will have to edit it to include those topics.
