Aim and Objectives
My campaign for change is related to domestic violence because it is a high priority crime that is
substantially under reported to the police. My initial aims are to raise awareness about hate
crime; helping the victims with support and advice and highlight the dangers of domestic
violence and what someone can do to stop it. My first objective is to put up awareness posters
on bus stops to grasp people’s attention. This objective will help me with my aim of raising
awareness of this crime. My next objective is to is to create a social media campaign on
Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to give advice to victims on how to seek help. My aim is to get
at least 200 clicks. This objective will help me with my aim of highlighting support channels for
victims. My third objective is to hold an event/workshop to underline the dangers of domestic
violence. I will have police officers give talks and have some victim accounts so the workshop is
more meaningful. I will also hand out leaflets as well will statistics on how common domestic
violence is.
Why I have chosen this campaign
I have chosen to do hate crime due to the lack of awareness and knowledge the public has
about this type of crime. Domestic violence has is substantially under reported because the
victim may be fearful of the consequences for themselves or their family if they report the crime
to the police such as being threatened or further getting attacked. They may also think that the
police will not be of any help to them and may not take the report of being attacked seriously as
there may be no proof of the incident. An example of domestic violence is a person being
abused by their partner or family member.
Target audience
My target audience for my domestic violence campaign is people aged 13-25 as they are the
most common age group for abuse by a partner/family member. However, I want to target
everybody as anybody could be a victim of domestic violence. I wanted to target people in this
