, Introduction
Sleep means a state of altered consciousness,
throughout which varying degrees of stimuli produce
wakefulness. It is a recurrent, altered state of
consciousness that occurs for sustained periods,
restoring energy and wellbeing. Rest refers to a
condition in which is in a decreased state of activity
with the consequent feeling of being refreshed. The
need for sleep and rest is important in quality of life.

SLEEP
Sleep is cyclically occurring state of decreased motor activity and
perception, which is characterized by altered consciousness.


REST
Rest is a condition in which the body is inactive or
engaging in mild activity, after which the person feels
refreshed. A person at a rest is a calm, relaxed and free of
anxiety and stress.
