Element Learning Outcomes: -Measure and assess respiratory rate -Measure and interpret oxygen saturation using a pulse oximeter. -Identify and assess the radial, brachial and carotid pulse for rate, rythm and volume. -Demonstrate competency in measurement of blood pressure using a sphygmomanometer -Demonstrate competency in documentation and interpretation of these vital signs on a National Early Warning Score (NEWS) chart. -Measure core body temperature using a tympanic thermometer. -Perform urinalysis. -Measure blood glucose level. -Record vital signs on an observation chart. -Demonstrate competence in measuring BP, pulse, respiration rate of a simulator simulated patient. -Calculate the consciousness level of a simulated patient using the Glasgow Coma Scale. -Interpret data of a simulated patient that you have recorded on the NEWS 2 Chart. -Demonstrate competence in recording Blood ressure, Pulse Rate, Respiratory Rate, Temperature, consciousness levels on a NEWS 2 chart. -Use the Correct Medical Terminology to descibe normal and abnormal values of respiratory rate, blood pressure, pulse rate, body temperature, pulse oximeter and urinalysis results.
