Question Answer Mark
Number
1(a) AO2 (2 marks), AO3 (2 marks) (4)

Candidate responses have to be drawn from evidence presented
in Table 1.

One mark for identification of each conclusion (AO2).
One mark for justification of each conclusion (AO3).

For example:

• On average, males drive faster than females (1), which is
shown by a difference of 12Km/h where males averaged
68 and females 56Km/h on the driving course (1).
• Age of drivers did not affect the driving speed (1), which
is shown by only a 1Km/h difference between the average
driving speed of those under 25 years old and those 25
years old and over (1).
• Driving experience influenced the speed of driving (1),
which is shown by more frequent drivers recording a
higher average driving speed of 67Km/h compared to
infrequent drivers who had an average of 56Km/h (1).

Look for other reasonable marking points.

Answers must relate to the scenario.

Generic answers score 0 marks.
