Investment steps
(1) Set your investment goal – determine what your investment goal is.

(2) Determine investment vehicle
 What do you want to invest in?
 Self-trading
 Assisted trading – are you going to get a third party to do it for you?

(3) Decide on your investment strategy
 What’s your method of investment?
 Are you going to be an active investor? Buy and hold
 Are you going to be a passive investor? Pay third party to invest on
your behalf
 Trading – a lot more instantaneous than as an active investor. Buy
and sell actively.

(4) Select the funds you want to invest in
 Research what funds you want to invest in:
 Shares only?
 Funds?
 Local or global?
 Ask yourself how wide you want your portfolio to be
 Are you going to stick to the same company or change the
portfolio?
 Explore other investment options

(5) Invest consistently i.e. monthly
 Budget your investment every month and increase the amount if
possible
