KS1 Phonics Lesson Plan – Long /oo/ Sound
Learning Objective
Students will recognise and read words containing the long /oo/ phoneme.
Starter (5 minutes)
Show picture cards and ask students to identify words containing the /oo/ sound.
Main Activity (15 minutes)
Students sort word cards into /oo/ sound groups (moon, food, spoon, etc.).
Guided Practice
Teacher models reading sentences containing /oo/ words.
Plenary
Students read one /oo/ word aloud and use it in a sentence.
