P3, P4 and P6:
Prepare a plan for a business event.
This assignment needed to be done in groups. I got paired with Marlon and Vinh.
The whole class was assigned to organize the Open Day for new students at our
school ROC Hilversum. Each group must talk about a certain subject they will be
explaining to the new students. Our choice was the future. So, we would be
explaining what the possibilities are after you have passed the course. we will be
explaining the different types of educations for which you can apply with this
diploma as well as which jobs are suitable with his diploma. The goal of this event
is to attract new students (potential customers) to the best education in the world
(BTEC).
Tasks
We divided the tasks equally. We looked at what the qualities of each person
were and assigned them the tasks that suited them the best. We came to the
following decision; I would be talking to the customers about future jobs you can
do after you’re done with this education. Marlon would be talking with the
attendances about future education you can follow you’re done with this course.
Vinh would be welcoming the customers and asking them what type of
information they want to know and guide them to the right person other than
that Vinh will give them any additional information they need regarding school or
the BTEC education.
Event and Health and Safety
The open day will be on a Thursday from 4 pm till 8 pm, this means the students
will be visiting us within these 4 hours. This is the first open day of the year for
ROC Hilversum, so this means it will not be as crowed as its used to be. We will
arrive 1 hour before the start of the event to make sure everything is alright. We
got a separate classroom which we can decorate how want it to be for the event.
We got classroom B236 this is a relatively big classroom so made sure all the
tables and chairs were in a corner and there was enough space for people to walk
and sit and talk with us. We also put down flyers around the hallway to guide
people to our classroom so that they could get information about our subject.
Another strategy we cam up with was putting our flyers in our other classmates’
rooms to let the people know they could come to us to get even more
information. We also arranged some drinks and snacks for our attendances to
