In this report I am going to be analysing how one specific destination attracts two
inbound and two domestic visitor types. I will then evaluate how effective the
destination attracts these customer types. I will also note specific qualities and
highlight recommendations for the future. The destination that I will be focusing on is
Blackpool.
Blackpool attracts domestic families because it is a coastal resort which means that
domestic families can access it easily through different modes of transport such as
car and train. This main mode of transport for families would be cars which is
accessible to Blackpool. Blackpool meets this need because they are accessible via
the motorway M55. The main natural feature that would attract domestic families is
the beach. This natural feature attracts families because it is a free, accessible areas
for all the families can enjoy. Blackpool meets the needs of domestic families
because they allow them use the beach free of charge and therefore meets the
needs of families. They also have different rides such as the donkey rides that allow
them to further enjoy themselves. It is not restricted to one specific age group
therefore it attracts families. They can explore together, they can build sandcastles
and enjoy the sand. They can have family picnics on the beach as well.
This shows why the beach attracts families. Blackpool also has a range of built
attractions to attract families. The main built attraction is the sandcastle waterpark.
The sand castle water Park is perfect for families because it provides an exciting and
enjoyable experience for both adults and children. This attraction provides water
slides for adults so they can enjoy this attraction. They also provides slides for
children. This attracts families because it has something for all ages. This shows
how Blackpool meets the needs of domestic families because they allows them to
enjoy different attraction for all ages. Blackpool has many facilities to offer families.
An example is accommodation. Blackpool has a full range of accommodation to suite
different customers. An example is the premier inn. The premier inn is a three star
hotel and is perfect for domestic families because it is cheap and affordable. Tickets
can be from £40 to £50. Blackpool meets the needs of domestic families because
they allow them to have a full experience with lots of different activities and also to
have adequate accommodation like the premier inn. Blackpool meets the needs of
