First appearance of the Celts:
0? – 43
Remains a mystery, since the Romans were established during the period
43 – 410, the Iron Age Celtic culture happened before that.
The Scots and the Picts were a Celtic tribe.
The Celtic language and culture only survived in present-day
Scotland, Wales and Cornwall.
Stonehenge:
Was built by the Celts on Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire, somewhat between
5,000 and 4,300 years ago. It appears to function as a kind of
astronomical clock and we know it was used by the Druids (a Celtic,
priestly social class) for ceremonies marking the passing of the seasons.
The Romans:
43 – 410
Covers most of present-day England and Wales. Spread the Latin
language. During this period, the Scots migrated from Ireland to Scotland,
