Chosen Business Type
I will be starting a small business and the type of business that I have chosen for my business is a
partnership. The reason why I have chosen to start up my business as a partnership is because it will
not only be owned by me but other people that I know can come and join me in business and I will
also have help with the day to day operations for the business. The first advantage of being a
partnership would be that it is shared responsibility and everyone has their own skills so I could
share my skills with my partner and we could both use our skills together to be able to create a
successful business. The second advantage of being in a partnership in business is that there is much
less time pressure compared to being a sole trader as there is at least 1 more partner in the business
so there is less pressure on both of the owners of the business. The third advantage of being a
partnership would be that there is someone to go over the decisions for the business to ensure that
the decisions made are actually right and there is no risks for the business to go out of business.
Also in a partnership, the need for working long hours is not required as there will be more than two
people working in the shop and more work could be done and the more work that is done will bring
success to the business and this could lead to more sales and more sales will lead to large amounts
of profit coming into the business.
The name of my business is Taste Budz as I intend on opening a coffee shop and I think this is a
unique name for a coffee shop due to the name being ‘Taste Budz’. Taste Budz will be providing a
wide selection of hot and cold beverages to customers. The beverages that will be on offer for
example are Teas from different sides of the world, coffees whether that’s hot or cold, cappuccinos,
Lattes and many other hot beverages. As my coffee shop will be unique, we will have the option for
other foods to be sold here too. This includes all types of food due to the fact that the area we will
be based in is multi-cultural so I want to ensure that everyone feels welcome to our store. This
ranges from Asian food to American food and mainly foods from outside of the UK due to the
different international communities being large. Also as the largest community in Slough are
Muslims so I would need to ensure that the meat products being sold in the business will have to be
Halal to be able to guarantee that a large audience would come into the business.

The location of my business will be in Slough as I have identified a gap in the market. The area in
Slough where the actual shop will be is in the Chalvey High Street as there is currently no coffee
stores in the Chalvey Area and this is the most visited area in Slough. The closest coffee shops for the
residents of Slough is in the High Street as this is where Starbucks and Costa are located and those
two coffee shops are located opposite each other. I think that it’s a good idea for me to locate the
business in the Chalvey High Street as there is a school in Chalvey which is called Slough and Eton
and the majority of the students that go out to revise for their exams mainly go to either the library
or Starbucks and they go to Starbucks because it is a good working area and they have beverages
available to them so if I was to locate my shop in Chalvey, this would mean that they could come
