Dilemma 3: Take it or leave it?
The purpose of Dilemma 3 is to determine whether hosting the West Indies cricket team is a viable
option for Accra Beach Resort.
There are 141 rooms. There is a VAT of 7.5% on room charges and 15% on meals.
Lowest during summer. The hotel also focuses on attracting business clients; in recent years, it has
attracted a large number of corporate clients who have come to conduct business with local
businesses.
Cricket team:
Period 1: April 24 to May 7th
Period 2: May 27th to May 30th
Period 3: 17th of June to 26th of June
Demand: 50 rooms (including two suits at no additional costs)
Price: 130 dollar p. night p. room
Extra: laundry service for free (costs est 20 dollar per day in house, 200 dollar per day if outside)
In exchange, it has agreed to promote the Accra Beach as the host hotel for the upcoming West
Indies Cricket Series in all advertising materials and television broadcasts.
