,Executive summary
Hick bv is one of the largest breweries in the Netherlands. The company is based in Oosterhout and
brews a volume of more than 7.5 million hectoliters annually. The beer goes from here to more than
2000 Dutch catering locations and to more than 100 countries.
Hick is the only large brewery in the Netherlands that brews beer with pure natural mineral water.
This is in line with the main goal of the company; a constant high quality of the beer. By using this
mineral water Hick has a unique position in the market as an independent brewery.
Every brewery wants to be ahead of its rivals and that is not always easy, but Hick has succeeded. By
using the latest ISO Standards in the business process, they have managed to be ahead of the game
with the latest standards for Sustainable business.
Hick has grown strongly in recent years and in the coming years it looks positive for the company.
For the upcoming year, there is a strong focus on the Greek market and what needs to be adjusted
here to achieve the set goals. The goals set for the coming years are: A lesser stock must be achieved
in Athens and this must also include a decrease in costs. Besides these goals the main goal is to
reduce the Co2 emission by 20% in 5 years and to obtain the Lean And Green award. With this award
they can show that they are on their way to a better future for the world.
Below we explain what you can expect from this report.
In chapter one we explain exactly who Hick bv is. We also explain what the main question is and the
related sub-questions. In the following chapter, the main and sub questions are further explained
with the help of theoretical material.
After these chapters we discuss the methodology of the research. In chapter four we elaborate on
the sub-questions using our calculations on Costs and Emissions. These calculations are clearly
displayed in an Excel sheet. This makes it clear for you to see and understand. This Excel file shows
the current and the new situations when it comes to emissions, stocks and costs.
In the last chapters we will fully elaborate on the sub-questions thus leading to a conclusion. After
working out the sub-questions we will give you our advice on the current objectives of Hick bv.

In dit verslag presenteren wij van Supply Chain Solutions het adviesrapport voor Hick NV. Supply
Chain Solutions heeft onderzoek gedaan naar de problematiek en de doelstellingen binnen het
bedrijf van Hick. De al bestaande supply chain is onderzocht en daarna is er opzoek gegaan naar
verbeteringen. Daar is dit verbetervoorstel uitgekomen.
Wij willen graag onze docent Rudy Kuo bedanken voor de hulp die hij geboden heeft. Hier hebben
wij veel aan gehad voor het project.
