Internet: system that connects numerous individual computer networks to transfer digital data/bits across networks; it is
a telecommunication system for computer networks which functions through use of Transmission Control Protocol
(TCP) or Internet Protocol (IP)
World Wide Web: software platform of public web pages that can be accessed through the Internet (uses Internet as its
carrier)
Internet of things: network of physical objects with sensors that collect + exchange data with other devices over
Internet (connected through softwares, bluetooth, etc.)
Big Data: large, more complex set of data that traditional softwares cannot process + manage
Zero rating: when an Internet Service Provider applies a price of zero to data traffic associated with a particular
application/class of applications (ex. Not charging users for data used to access a specific music streaming application,
then the ISP is zero rating this particular application) —> leads to shutting out other applications
