a) Objectives of the activity in terms of own ambitions as marketeer. What exactly do
you wish to learn? Note: objectives must be formulated in a SMART manner.
The borders of the countries in European Union are less and less visible, because of
this I don’t see myself working and living the rest of my life in the Netherlands. Now
I’m still relatively young I want to start learning an extra language. Already I fluently
speak two languages Dutch and English also I have basic knowledge German. For this
course I would like to improve in my German.
German is a language that many people in Europe speak, so it is an important
language worldwide. Me as a young professional always wants to keep learning, so it
is good for my resume if my German would improve.
It is not realistic thinking that I will speak fluent German after I finish this course, but
I it would be really good for myself if I will have a good knowledge of the language.
To make myself understandable in German conversations. Whenever the learning
process will go easy or I really enjoy learning the language I could always try an
advanced course after this. In the context of self-enrichment. But for now, my goal is
to have: A good knowledge of German at which I can make myself understandably in
conversations and public places, and I would like to reach this goal at the end of the
school year.
b) What actions/activities do you need to undertake to achieve this?
I already took one trip to Dusseldorf in Germany where I had a music event. I took it
upon myself to practice my German while in the city. Besides this I will take another
trip to Berlin, this trip is for a school project during this trip I will practice my German
by interviewing companies in Berlin.
Besides these trips to Germany where I will improve my German I will watch various
German documentaries and films to improve my German. During these films I will
write down words in German that I don’t understand and will translate these for
myself and put these translations in the portfolio.
Finally, I will also need improvement in my German grammar. To Improve this, I will
watch various YouTube videos explaining German grammar to me. I also bought a
book to explain German grammar.
