Passion: A Personal Experience
I Introduction
A. Attention Getter – Passion is greater than talent, so goes the adage, but
how many hold this to be true? Despite all the evidence to support this I still
find that most people do not give much attention to what they are passionate
about.
B. Thematic Statement (Preview) – I am going to share with you the story
my passion, which is dancing, and how it defeated talent.
Transition to body: Allow me to start with my first encounter with dancing passion.

Point #1: My passion for dancing began way before I could even complete a sentence
according to my parents.
A. Sub-point/Example: In their 1977 song, Thank You for the Music, the band Abba
reminisce how they used to dance before they could walk. Well, that is closer to my
own story. The only difference is that I couldn’t actually dance. Fast forward to my
teenage years and my inability to master moves that went with the music had me
nicknamed class weirdo. In my primary school final year, I signed up for the class
dancing troop to entertain the final parent’s meeting. I was the worst dancer in the
group. I was so bad the best dancers asked to pay to leave the group. I could hear
none of it. I deserved to be there like anyone else. Moreover, I felt more passionate
about dancing than the most talented in the group. Effectively, I worked harder that
