, Business Plan
A business plan is a company’s roadmap for successful operations. It outlines areas of
effort that support finances, goals, missions, visions, and objectives. It “articulates the logic and
provides data and other evidence that demonstrates how a business creates and delivers value to
customers” (Teece, 2010, p. 173). The following summary illustrates Command & Control (C2)
Inc.’s business plan.
Mission
C2 is an organization responsible for the training and development of over 100,000
operational forces. Their mission statement is to “provide policy, guidance, and resources to
enable the professional, voluntary, and readiness training and development across all operational
departments”. The organization has 94 departments throughout the 54 states and territories of the
United States.
Vision & Goals
C2’s vision is Advise, Educate, Resource, and Transform. These key indicators provide
concise visualization targets for the future. The department’s goals encompass priorities based on
areas of opportunity, weakness, and threats. These priorities are systems and data integrity,
resourcing, stakeholder engagement, department management, and internal personnel
management. These priorities each have assigned objectives, targeting a 3-year plan to address,
improve, or resolve the identified areas from the SWOT analysis.
Stakeholders
The stakeholders for C2 are identified based on primary (internal) and secondary
