Réponse: The Truman Doctrine gave money to Greece and Turkey to prevent them from falling into communism and the Soviet sphere, whereas the Marshall Plan gave economic support to European countries to help them rebuild their economies after WW2. These ideas were entered around preventing communist ideas in the failing economies of Europe, this is because a failing economy will increase poverty, and often poverty promotes communism. Thus in preventing the spread of poverty, the US thought that they would also prevent the spread of communism and Soviet influence.
