Drums

-Are typically used to provide continuous detectable edging
-Do NOT contain or redirect a vehicle
Do NOT prevent vehicle intrusions
Are NOT a positive protection device!

Maximum Device Spacing
-Should not exceed the maximum distances shown in table 6F-

channelizes
Warning Lights
-Portable, lens-directed, enclosed lights
-the color or the light emitted shall be yellow
-may be used in either a steady-burn or flashing mode. Warning
lights shall have a minimum mounting height of 30 inches to the
bottom or the lens.
-Flashing lights (Type A and B) to draw attention to a sign or
hazard
-Steady-burn lights (type C and D) for delineation
-Warning light spacing should be identical to the channelizing
device spacing requirements
Types of Warning Lights
1.Type A= Low-intensity flashing
2. Type B= High-Intensity flashing
3. Type C= Steady-Burn
4. Type D= 360- degree steady-burn

-Low intensity flashing
-visible from 3,000 feet on a clear night
-To warn users during nighttime hours of:

..obstructions adjacent to the roadway
2. Type B Warning Lights
-High intensity flashing

3. Type C and D Warning Lights
