PURPOSE AND PERSPECTIVE OF THE CHAPTER
The purpose of this chapter is to explain how globalization has affected spatial relationships. First, we
discuss how trade relations and global corporations have impacted patterns of the global economy. Then,
we discuss how economies have become globally connected and interdependent. Finally, we address the
concerns over sustainability in industry and economic development.
