They decide to bring everything (alcohol and food) to the school and store it in the home economics fridge during school hours. The fridge is locked, and its contents are closely supervised by the home economics teacher, who is part of the group. At the end of the day, before school formally closes, they will all have an administrative period. They agree to meet in the Home Economics centre immediately after they have completed their work and leave from there. (5)

1. Definition of a Professional Teacher

A professional teacher is an educator who demonstrates expertise in teaching, upholds
ethical standards, and commits to continuous professional development while fostering
learners’ holistic growth (SACE, 2016).

Stance: I agree with this definition.

Reasons from the SACE Code of Professional Ethics:

1. Commitment to learners – The Code requires teachers to respect the dignity,
rights, and safety of all learners, acting in their best educational and personal
interests (SACE, 2016, Section 3.1).
2. Commitment to the profession – Teachers must conduct themselves in a
manner that upholds the dignity and integrity of the teaching profession,
