Flashcards have simple pictures on to learn meaning and
pronunciation of vocabulary visually.
Flashcards are great to:
• Practice word association by grouping pictures together.
• Practice ordering adjectives by describing the pictures.
• Practice tenses by using pictures to build sentences with.
The pictures must be kept simple and unambiguous using
vocabulary suitable for the age and culture of the students.
Pre-Intermediate - Feely Bags
Feely bags have objects inside enabling students to touch and feel
different objects without seeing them.
Feely bags are good to:
• Practice ordering adjectives, sensory adjectives such as
touch and sound, and comparing objects by describing what
they can feel in the bag.
• Practice nouns by placing these objects inside.
Unfortunately, the number and type of objects are limited in size and
weight otherwise the bag may become too heavy or full.
Upper-Intermediate - Organising and using the board
Boards can be used to make information more visual, as some
students remember easier with visual aids.
