a central server instead of a localized hard drive. Thin clients
work by connecting remotely to a server-based computing
environment where most applications, sensitive data, and
memory, are stored.
The Internet A global network consisting of many networks that are
connected to each other.
Interface Part of the operating system. Provides us with GUI
(Graphical User Interface).
Spreadsheet Type of software used to manipulate numbers

determine the overall ‘power’ of a computer
Access point Consists of a sender/transceiver and an antenna which
transmit and receive radio waves so that the devices that
are wireless enabled are able to communicate with one
another and the network.
Processing stage of the The CPU works with the computer’s memory to get
information processing instructions on how to display the information from the input
cycle device
Storage stage of the Stores it as pixels in the computer’s memory. The information
information processing is sent to the output device
cycle
Validation rule The conditions which the data must satisfy in a specified
field to be valid.
