attempt to add any notations which you found interesting during the presentation.
Slide # 1 Assyrian Empire
● Which great empires did the Assyrians replace?
The assyrians replaced the Akkadians. They were the reason for the collapse of the
Akkadian empire. They conquered the Akkadians.
● Why do you think communication is so important to maintaining an empire? (Take a
minute to describe its importance in a couple of sentences.)
Because of the possibility of a civil war. If problems are not properly addressed. A group or
area of people could want to go against the monarchy or government. It also allows for the
empire to expand and advance faster. It allows for a more efficient spread of ideas. It helps
spread and address problems to larger groups of people.

● In your opinion, why do new empires sometimes copy old empires?
Cultural diffusion could be one possibility where ideas spread throughout different areas.
This could also be due to the fact that many civilizations have similar ideas, take the pyramids
for example similar structures have been found across the world, in mexico ancient sumeria and
egypt.

The persian empire was present in Africa, Asia and Europe.
● Describe the empire geographically. (Use north, south, etc for directions, include bodies
of water it touches, mountain ranges, modern nations, continent names to help build
